Tattoo Removal Treatment

What Is The Tattoo Removal Treatment?

Tattoo removal is a non-invasive procedure to get rid of an undesired tattoo. It is used to remove permanent tattoos from any part of the body safely.

All the colours of the tattoo ink are removed in a pain-free and advanced tattoo removal procedure, Q-Switched by shattering pigment particles deep beneath the skin, allowing your immune system to scavenge and eliminate the pigment.

Consequently, as the tattoo fades in layers, multiple sessions are required for optimum results.

For simple tattoo removal, 4-6 sessions are recommended. Q switched-Nd: YAG is the most frequently used laser for tattoo removal.

During the treatment, pulses of light from the laser are directed onto the tattoo, breaking up the tattoo pigment. Over the next several weeks, the body’s cells remove the tattoo’s ink from the skin. With the Q-switched Nd-YAG laser available, you can effectively treat dark tattoo inks, specifically black (which accounts for more than half of all tattoos), blue and green. Patients should expect to visit for several laser tattoo removal sessions to achieve desired results.

What to expect during the consultation?

During your tattoo removal consultation, discuss your desired tattoo removal goals, any underlying medical conditions, drug allergies and treatments, current medications, vitamins, herbal supplements, alcohol, tobacco use, and previous surgeries. Photographs will be taken to record the tattoo removal progress, and your treating doctor will discuss the options and recommend a course of treatment for you. You will be adequately informed of the precautions and post instructions in detail, and still, if you have any queries, you can ask your treating doctor.

Treatment Protocol at Metamorphosis

Topical Anesthesia is applied. The Laser shots are then fired onto the area as per the colour of the pigment. The laser light targets the pigment in the ink that causes photo acoustic fragmentation of the ink particles. These particles are removed by phagocytes and drained out of the body via the lymphatic system. After the procedure, you may find some redness, swelling, and white fragments; we assure you that this is entirely normal and indicates the treatment has picked up the ink. The area then develops some scabbing and takes about a week to heal. Post-inflammatory cream is applied post-procedure.
